Every day BNY analyze thousands of data points to help their clients make better investments. This year, BNY decided to show up at Art Basel in Miami. But with UBS boxing them out as the official sponsor, BNY had to get smart. We created SmArt Basel, a digital and social campaign that run over Art Basel in Miami. BNY crunched the data behind the art and served it up to their clients on social media platforms (where surprisingly 51% of collectors go to discover new artists).&nbsp; We worked with one of the worlds leading typographers to design a unique set of artful and branded numbers. The set of numbers were created in 3D and each character was given its own unique animation style which allowed us to generate posts in realtime and becuase the statistcis were different everytime each post was unique. We then posted data visualization art and Instagram trivia using new polls in real time. Disguising data as art. With a limited budget and UBS as the title sponsor, BNY Mellon needed a way to get art aficionado’s attention. With&nbsp; zero media buy we saw a 10% increase in Instagram followers over the course of the campaign, 20,000 engagements in Twitter polls alone, the average engagement per post on Instagram increased by 56% all of which led to 600,000+ impressions on social media. My role in the project was crafting an elegant set of animated numbers with the amazing typography designer,&nbsp;Alex Trochut.&nbsp;And to document the project, I also edited a case study film which was embedded at the end of this page. During that week, more than 220 publications from around the world are going to flood the news with climate crisis stories in a united effort to call the world to action, culminating on September 23 – the day of the Climate Action Summit. To kick off this initiative, Columbia Journalism Review teamed up with Columbia University’s Earth Institute and TBWA Chiat Day New York to inspire influential journalists to bring the climate crisis to the front page with an immersive art exhibit called "Flood The News."The exhibit features front pages of global newspapers physically treated to reflect the looming impacts of the climate crisis, like rising seas, intensifying heat waves, declining snowpack, increased pollution, and extreme wildfiresMy team(DxD) created a set of posters (animated and still) to promote the Covering Climate Now launch event, as well as a publication that educated journalists about how to cover the climate crisis. The Big Mac is sold at more than 36,000 restaurants in 120 countries across the globe and has become universally recognizable. So much so, the ‘Big Mac Index’ was created by the Economist in 1986 to measure the purchasing power of international currencies every year. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world’s most iconic burger, we created the world’s first food-backed currency. Each MacCoin was worth one Big Mac in restaurants, but collecting them all… priceless.The MacCoin was released on the 100th birthday of the inventor of the Big Mac. We created 5 coin designs to commemorate each decade of the Big Mac. Six million coins were created and distributed in 50 countries, minted in 7 languages and accepted in more countries than the Euro. The MacCoins were activated differently in each market with everything from a coin toss at a professional soccer match in Argentina to a fan getting a Big Mac tattoo in exchange for the MacCoins.The MacCoin reignited love for the Big Mac: Global social buzz was 906k (80% more than the goal), there were 85k global social mentions with a 95% positive tone leading to a 40% lift in social conversation (and 1 million earned social mentions and engagements). We saw a 3 billion global impressions (more than any other McDonald’s global campaign to date), 40% sales lift in the US, 6% increase in global Big Mac sales (that’s $1.8 million incremental Big Mac sales in the US alone). More than 6.2 million MacCoins will be distributed globally in more than 50 countries while supplies last. These commemorative coins feature five unique designs, each representing a decade of the Big Mac. Each MacCoin design pulls in elements from that time in history, nodding to art, music and pop culture, while the front-side of the MacCoin celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac. digital campaign that underlines how nothing has changed about its signature burger in 50 years. In a world where things drift away in a blink, McDonald’s ‘Big Mac’ remains a hallmark of comfort foods. It’s probably the one thing that pops up in your head when you hear the words, “fast food.” Even in its 50th year, generations after generations still have an appetite for the burger, which has played witness to the creations and extinctions of innovations and trends. The series of 50 unique designs based on the iconic shape of the burger juxtapose the cultural differences between 1968 and 2018. For example, radio is now podcast, the jukebox is now Spotify and cash is now bitcoin. The point being that Big Mac is still the same and just as iconic, even half a century later. The art was also transformed into delicious bite size animations and GIFs for use in outdoor, in-store and digital media.&nbsp;In this project, I worked closely with&nbsp;TBWA Zürich to craft visuals for a series of cultural topic. From researching to design exploration, we try to bring&nbsp; a unique and compelling visual style for each poster and animation.My role including visual design (posters), 3D rendering / animating, and case study film editing. A rebrand from head to toe, with work including:&nbsp;logo redesign, color palette refresh and a proposed look and feel for the years printed materials consisting of festival programs, passes and more.Drawing inspiration from the overlapping circles in the logo, a representation of both the camera lens and the double 'O' in Brooklyn, we developed a heavily typographic aesthetic and used the circular shapes to create negative space and unique cut outs.Color inspiration came from the iconic Williamsburg Bridge, combining a soft 'steel' blue and a rusty pink tone. <img width="1400"
